• Check to see if your furnace filter is dirty. This is the number one reason most furnaces stop working.

• Confirm that your furnace is on and the selector switch is set to “heat.”

• Replace the batteries in your thermostat if appropriate for your model.

• Move any snow or leaves blocking your outside vent pipe.

• Try setting the temperature five degrees higher than the room temperature to see if the furnace kicks in.

• Check the fuse box to see if a breaker has tripped or a fuse is blown.

• Turn your blower on.
